what is the perfect counter to black wings

I guess this is part question and part bluster. Y'all meet, my 12-year-former works very hard on his decks (and those who have seen my name popping up hither and there in this wikia know I piece of work very hard to learn this game then I can help him. I even try to build decks so I can play with him). The nearest tourney identify for us is 20 miles away, so nosotros go simply every two weeks to allow him to try his deck(s) out.

At present the metagame that seems to be going on here is ... you guessed it ... BLACKWINGS! And I can understand why - it'due south a very strong archetype. But the trouble nosotros're facing is, most the people dueling in our surface area are 20+ on up (no, I am not kidding), and they have a adequately disposable income. They tin afford these bloomin' loftier-priced cards (<&^!$$%^&> sorry) that nosotros're having trouble countering.

And then there's my 12-year-old, whose dependent on what nosotros can afford to spend on his hobby. He takes information technology all on the mentum - he evens wins a duel now then. I'd but like to be able to come up upward with something that would let him win more than than ONE duel now so (not talking going to the regionals, just being able to win two duels in a given session).

Now, I know some of this is simply getting used to thinking about different combos, and how to play the cards you've got. We're also playing catch-up from the onetime-style dueling and early on Yugioh days. But can someone please tell me - has this game become nothing more than than spending tons of coin to become the all-time cards without putting too much strategic thinking into information technology? Or does applying yourself and building a great (though not as well expensive) deck count for anything?

In otherwords ... if you were to build a deck to counter Blackwings, what type of deck would information technology be?

Some tips

WEll if you wanna keep it cheap attempt to think well-nigh how blackwings win. At present depending on the deck there are a few good staples that can boring down blackwings to try and have them down to a lower lv. A few suggestions would be to run multiple free destroyer cards.

That means 3 Fissures 1 Corking Footing 1 Hammer Shot

In addition to nonetheless many Lightening Vortexs you run. Since all these cards were re=printed multiple times as commons they should be easy to get.

Other suggestion would be that if your son inn;t playing a special summon heavy deck would be to try and become some Royal Oppression. Yous tin can usually go a playset of 3 for alittle more and then 10$ and it most completly shuts down blackwings.

The final thing to mention. Would be that if you wanna build a deck from sratch but still want it to be pretty skillful merely not pause the bank would be to either chose to try and build a Oppression deck or a Skill Drain deck. Both deck types can be fairly easily congenital and with SKill Drain decks with the exception of Beast Male monarch Barbaros and Beast Car Male monarch Barbaros Ür have no cards in them that are over 5$ besides that higher finish trap and spell support you make up one's mind to through in like Mirror Forcefulness.

Just make certain that you pratice with him running those two types of deck if y'all guys determine to practise it since they run alittle dissimilar that almost decks due and y'all have to think laterally and know when you really activate either decks foundation carte (Skill Bleed or Royal Oppression)

Well, at this point, I'yard willing to try anything. We were running a Frog Beatdown deck last week, and that set one guy dorsum on his heels so much that he began cussing (bad grade, but pretty funny when you remember about it, specially since my son had him down to 75 points earlier he lost). We're converting it to a stall deck (calculation in Gravity Bind and Level Limit - Area B ) amongst other things.

In add-on to the cards mentioned above u could play monster cards that remove them from the game such every bit DD warrior lady whose now 3 per deck, DD assailant 3 per deck, and DD warrior who is besides iii per deck. using these monsters along with traphole, bottomless trap pigsty, torrential tribute, mirror strength makes it very hard for the opposing BW to makes plays because their monsters cannot stay on the field long enough to be used. --Male monarch Bahamut 22:47, October x, 2009 (UTC)

There are options, but they're hard to use...

Thunder King Rai-Oh is extremely good confronting Blackwings, equally is Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer against Vayu (and the Turbo decktype). There are anti-meta decks (which include blackwings) on tcgplayer.com, and I would recommend looking there showtime.

However, there'due south a bigger trouble. Yugioh is, fundamentally, a game where throwing money at whatever problems y'all may have will assist, even though you tin can't buy skill. All yugioh cards take prices, and if you tin purchase those certain cards, y'all will beat more than players.

That's rather discouraging. Nosotros are fortunate to have some things like one Mirror Strength (which I tin can't impact for less than $xxx right at present), a Solemn Judgement, and a few other rare cards. I've besides stocked up on things like Lightning Vortex, Widespread Ruin, and Threatening Roar. I'yard hoping those things, plus agreement deck types and how to play them, volition help.
